If you have any questions, please check the <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/shop.hippolyte.fi\/en\/faqs-for-the-print-shop\/\">FAQs<\/a><\/strong> before contacting us.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\" \/>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">1. What can be sold?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Yes<\/strong>:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Up to 7 prints (including a maximum of 2 previously featured works)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Prints on paper or textiles<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Unmounted prints and prints mounted with passe-partout<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Works A2 or smaller, including backboard and\/or passepartout<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Works with high-resolution images and accurate information<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>No:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Diasecs or prints mounted on aluminium<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Framed works<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Works mounted in any other way<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Works larger than A2<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Works with low-resolution images or inaccurate information<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\" \/>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">2. <strong>Information about your work<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong><strong>When registering a work, you will be asked to provide:<\/strong><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Title<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Year<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Technique<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Size<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Edition number of the work being sold<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Applicable VAT rate<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Whether more editions or sizes are available<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Theme<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Colour(s)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Orientation<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Artist biography<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Artwork description<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Whether you want the artwork sales price to include a \u20ac5 donation to the Finnish Natural Heritage Foundation<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Please make sure that all information is accurate. The information provided when registering the work will also need to correspond with the certificate of authenticity.<br><br>We advise you to consistently price your works across all sales events and marketplaces for the duration of the sales period.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\" \/>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">3. Writing your texts<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Artist biogrpahy<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Please write your biography in the third person and include your name.<br><br>You can also include:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Year and place of birth<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Educational institutions and formal training<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>A short statement about what inspires\/drives your practice<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The materials you work with<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Selected exhibitions and publications<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Notable collections<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Artwork description<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The artwork description can address:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The main themes of the work<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>What inspired its creation<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>What the work depicts or represents<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The materials and techniques used and the significance of these methods<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Whether the work connects to a larger body of work or is part of a series<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>What you hope to communicate to the viewer<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It\u2019s good to remember that an artwork description, and the biography of its maker, can be an effective way to create a connection to a potential buyer. The text can invoke feelings, make the work feel especially personal, or build up a sense of provenance and pride for possessing the work. A good text does not necessarily explain a work outright, but reaches out to the viewer to perhaps consider it in some other or expanded light.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\" \/>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">4. Images<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Printshop sales take place predominantly through the online shop.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Please provide the highest-quality image possible of each work. The image will be visible to customers online and may also be used on social media channels to promote the work and the Printshop.<br>Image requirements:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Recommended resolution of 2000 px on the long edge<br>Maximum file size: 1.5 MB<br>File name: last name_first name_title of the work<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Low-resolution or unclear images are not suitable for the Printshop.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">If the print has margins. include them in the image.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">If the print is supplied with a passe-partout, include it in the sales image. Crop out any background from the image.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\" \/>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">5. Pricing, VAT, and commission<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">There is <strong>no entry fee<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The sales commission is <strong>35%<\/strong>, calculated from the price of the work excluding VAT. When registering, indicate whether you are liable for VAT and provide your applicable business ID. The price of the artwork should <strong>include any applicable VAT<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Remember to double check your artwork specific VAT! The current VAT rates applicable to photographic works:<br><br>Unique works and editions up to 30: 13,5 %<br>Unlimited editions or editions exceeding 30: 25,5%<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.artists.fi\/fi\/kuvataiteilijan-arvonlisavero-ohje\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/www.artists.fi\/fi\/kuvataiteilijan-arvonlisavero-ohje\">Read more on VAT on Finnish Art Associations website here.<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The indicated price of the artwork should include the cost of packaging materials. The price provided cannot be changed during the sales period.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Note:<\/strong> Although sales commissions and other costs may vary between sales platforms, we recommend maintaining consistent pricing for the same artwork and keeping the price level within a reasonable range.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\" \/>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">6. Certificate of Authenticity<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Each print must be accompanied by a <strong>physically signed certificate of authenticity<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The certificate must be securely attached to the back of the artwork.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">You may use the provided certificate template or create your own. In either case, the information on the certificate must correspond with the information provided for the artwork and in the digital sales agreement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\" \/>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">7. Preparing a Sold Work for Shipping<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Once a work has been sold, the association will inform the artist promptly. The artist is then responsible for securely preparing the work for delivery.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Packaging<\/strong><br><br>Each print should be:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Placed in clear cellophane with supportive cardboard backing.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Optionally protected with an additional layer of acid-free paper.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Packed in a secure cardboard box strong enough to withstand normal shipping conditions.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Packed within the maximum postage dimensions allocated to the print.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The artist is responsible for the cost of packing materials.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\" \/>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">8. Sending a Sold Work<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The artist is responsible for sending the purchased work to the buyer <strong>within five working days of receiving the notification of sale<\/strong>, in collaboration with the Association of Photographic Artists.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">If the Association does not hear from you within five working days, it reserves the right to cancel the purchase.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Association will provide a <strong>prepaid postage sticker<\/strong> according to the buyer&#8217;s delivery choice selected at checkout. Print the sticker and attach it to the parcel before delivering it to your local post office.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The registered prints should be <strong>readily available<\/strong>. If there is a delay in the availability of a work after it has been sold, please inform the Association immediately.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\" \/>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">9. Additional shipping costs<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The artist is responsible for postage or additional shipping costs in the following cases:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The work is larger or more fragile than the standard shipping arrangement allows.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The work is sent using an alternative shipping method that has not been agreed upon with the Association.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The work is not suitably packed and arrives damaged.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\" \/>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">10. The Finnish Natural Heritage Foundation<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Association of Photographic Artists continues its partnership with the <a href=\"https:\/\/luonnonperintosaatio.fi\/en\/donate\/\">Finnish Natural Heritage Foundation<\/a>. In the Printshop, the artist has an option to donate \u20ac5 of the sales proceeds to the foundation. The Association will match the donation \u2013 directing a total of \u20ac10 per sold artwork to the preservation of Finnish forests.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\" \/>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">11. Returns<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The online shop is subject to the <strong>Consumer Protection Act<\/strong>, and customers have a <strong>14-day right of return for online purchases<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\" \/>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">12. Questions<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">If you have questions about participating in the Printshop, please check the <strong>FAQs<\/strong> before contacting the Association.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\" \/>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Agreement<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>By registering your work for the Printshop 26\/27, you agree to the following:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>You grant the Association of Photographic Artists permission to sell your works on your behalf.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>You grant the Association of Photographic Artists <strong>exclusive selling rights of the submitted prints for the first three months <\/strong>of the sales period, until 10 February 2027.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>You give the Association of Photographic Artists <strong>permission to use the uploaded images<\/strong> for promotion of the artworks and the Print shop platform<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>You communicate clearly with the Association of Photographic Artists on all matters regarding the sale of prints<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>You securely pack and send sold works within five working days of the notification of sale<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>You cover any unforeseen costs involved in sending the artwork<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\" \/>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Enquiries<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Director Henna Harri, 040 591 0770, <a href=\"mailto:henna.harri@hippolyte.fi\">henna.harri@hippolyte.fi<\/a>\u00a0<br>Exhibition Manager, Anna Airaksinen, 050 379 9036, <a href=\"mailto:anna.airaksinen@hippolyte.fi\">anna.airaksinen@hippolyte.fi<\/a>\u00a0<br>Association Coordinator, Tuure Lepp\u00e4nen, 050 397 7339, <a href=\"mailto:tuure.leppanen@hippolyte.fi\">tuure.leppanen@hippolyte.fi<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Registration | Artist Guidelines | FAQ Welcome to the Association of Photographic Artists\u2019 inaugural Print shop!&nbsp; Here you will find information about participating in the Print shop that you can refer to throughout the year.
