What can I submit to the Print shop?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

All members of the Association of Photographic Artists can register up to five, unframed prints<\/strong> for sale in the Print shop. Only artworks registered by the submission deadline can be sold in the Print shop. The maximum print size accepted for the Print Shop is A2 (420 x 594 mm)<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Can I submit a framed or mounted print?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Prints can be sold unmounted or mounted only with a passe-partout \u2013 this must be indicated via the registration form. We do not accept prints that are framed<\/strong> or otherwise mounted<\/strong> (e.g. diasec or aluminium). If you wish to submit framed or larger works for sale, please see our spring sales event, TEOS 2026<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Is there a fee for participating in the Print shop?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Participation in the Print shop is a new member benefit and it is included in your annual membership fee.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

There is a 35% sales commission on each print sold. The commission fee is calculated based on the price of the work excluding VAT. When registering, please indicate whether you are liable for VAT, and include applicable business ID. The prices of the artworks should include any applicable VAT.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Is there a selection process for the prints submitted?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

There is no selection process for the Print shop 25\/26. All artworks that abide by the guidelines laid out in the registration instructions are accepted into the event. We do not tolerate discrimination and any work containing discriminatory content may be withdrawn at our discretion.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

How should I document my print for the website?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Prints should be documented with a clear, high resolution image for use on the website and accompanying marketing purposes. Remember, the image will be used to sell the artwork and it is important to showcase the work in the best way possible.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

How should I pack my print for posting?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Prints should be carefully packed for posting. This includes placing the print on a thick, protective backing board, and wrapping it in cellophane.<\/strong> We recommend that the print is first wrapped in acid-free paper and then sealed with cellophane to prevent any moisture from reaching the print. Place the wrapped print in a cardboard envelope and attach the prepaid postage sticker provided by the association.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What else should I include with the print?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Please include a signed certificate of authenticity for each print sold. We recommend that you attach it to the back of the print or place it in a plastic pocket before placing it in the parcel. You can also include a contact card or thank you note.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What happens if I am unable to dispatch a sold print?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Prints for sale in the Print shop should be readily available (i.e. that they are already printed). However, due to the ongoing sales period, we understand that a print might not be immediately available for dispatch. If this is the case, please communicate this to us as soon as you receive a notification of sale. If we do not hear from you within five working days of the notification of sale, we reserve the right to cancel the purchase. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

If a print is completely sold out, please email us as soon as possible so that we can amend its availability on the online shop. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Where will my print(s) be displayed and sold?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Prints will be displayed and sold primarily via the association\u2019s online shop (shop.hippolyte.fi<\/a>). The prints will be listed online and available for sale from November 2025 until November 2026. If a print is sold out, it will be indicated as being sold out on the online shop.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the near future, we hope to promote the Print shop at Photographic Gallery Hippolyte<\/a>. We will contact individuals to request the possibility of prints being displayed and sold in the Hippolyte foyer and bookshop area.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

How will my artwork images and information be used?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

The images submitted via the registration form will be displayed on the online shop. We also reserve the right to use the images for promotional purposes e.g. on our social media channels and physical posters. All images used beyond the sales pages will be credited with the artist\u2019s name and artwork title.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Information like artist bio and artwork description will be displayed alongside your artwork in the online shop. We will also use this information to draft texts for marketing the works and the Print shop platform.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

How often will you have an open call for the Print shop?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

This is the Print shop\u2019s inaugural year, but we hope to carry out an annual open call to renew the shop\u2019s stock each autumn.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I would like to participate in the spring sales event, TEOS 2026. Is it possible to participate in both the Print shop and TEOS?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Yes, it is possible to participate in both the Print shop and TEOS<\/a> as they are deemed as two separate events. The intention behind the Print shop is to provide a year-round sales opportunity for our members and to showcase photographic art to buyers for a longer period of time.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What if I have specific care or framing instructions for my artwork?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

You are welcome to enclose printed information about how to care for an artwork when sending it to a buyer. Please note, the buyer is not under any obligation to frame the artwork in a specific way (e.g. specific frame colour or glass) once purchased. If you wish for the work to be framed in a particular way, please submit it as a framed artwork to our TEOS<\/a> sale in spring 2026.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
