Building, cherry tree, colour
About the artist
Since the late 1980s, the artist’s work has been rooted in the urban space of central Helsinki. In her structural and serial photographic works, she has organised the abstract elements of the urban landscape, exploring the massive scale, movement, and perspectives of the city. For over a decade, she has photographed urban architecture in Gran Canaria. In these abstract works, the central themes are the vivid colours and structures illuminated by the island’s bright light.
During an intermezzo in Oslo, the flourishing Botanical Garden inspired her to photograph the abundant organic space of plants.
