About the artist
Liina Aalto-Setälä (MA) is a visual artist working with anthotype (an old photographic technique based on plant dyes and sunlight), ceramics, and literary art.
Her work explores the emotional connection between humans and the environment through old stories, viewed from the perspective of contemporary people. In her pieces, she examines how the relationship to tradition changes as everything around us transforms due to the climate crisis.
Aalto-Setälä has exhibited widely across Finland in solo, group, and museum exhibitions, including in Turku, Jyväskylä, Oulu, and Helsinki.
