Sini Pelkki: Turning
Seeing, materiality, form, conceptuality
About the artist
Sini Pelkki (b. 1978) is a Helsinki-based visual artist who works with photography, moving image, space, and its rhythm. Pelkki works on film, and the slowness inherent in working with film is an essential part of her practice; the journey from taking a photograph to producing the finished work can take years. Her most recent solo exhibitions include Allow, Hippolyte (2025) and Evolving Window, Turku Art Museum (2024). Her works are included in the collections of Kiasma, the Saastamoinen Foundation, and HAM Helsinki Art Museum, among others. In 2025, Pelkki was awarded the Art Prize of the Uusimaa Fund by the Finnish Cultural Foundation.
