The Numeritos series consists of “still-life images”. It has been in progress since 2019, and the work is ongoing. The artist works from March to October. They need paper, scissors, natural light, and a computer. They cut and paste, photograph, and process the files until a new series is complete.

About the artist
Timo Kelaranta’s images operate within the realm of abstract visual art. His works are characterised by a pared-down, minimalist visual language and by his approach of navigating between photography, painting, and printmaking. He works improvisationally—knocking on doors, listening, and changing direction multiple times. The strongest and most enduring foundation for his work comes from the Surrealist art movement, and his greatest inspiration is Joan Miró, whose works he studies daily. In addition to creating images, Kelaranta writes daily; his most recent collection of writings is Miinus + 8 (Bokeh 2025).
