Anna Niskanen: Ulpukka
Niskanen’s works are photographic prints in which he explores the memory of nature, landscape, and place, as well as the water cycle. These central themes are emphasised in his working process, which involves digital stages but ultimately relies on traditional analogue methods. The images in his collages were taken during residency trips abroad, often by different bodies of water. Niskanen has also travelled by sea – movement from one place to another can serve as an in-between space, offering a unique opportunity to observe the environment and nature.
