Antti J. Leinonen: Pyynti

The award-winning Finnish photographer Antti J. Leinosen’s debut work “Pyynti” is a photography book in which the scents of the sea and fish can be sensed. The images, created between 2014 and 2023, navigate the boundaries of photographic art and documentary. The work explores the relationship between humans and nature, raising questions about the changes in primary production and urbanization. At the same time, it offers a glimpse into fishing as both an occupation and a lifestyle. In the book, the relationship between humans and the sea is both intimate and profoundly present.
