Maailman paras isä (World’s Best Dad) is a documentary photo book about Finnish fathers who at some point in their lives have looked after their offspring as sole custodians. 26 sole custodian fathers have been photographed and interviewed for the book in different parts of Finland at locations of their choosing.

“Do you remember the key fob you gave me years ago? You know, the one that says ‘World’s Best Dad’? By then it was just the two of us.

When I got sole custody, there were 17 000 of us in Finland, according to statistics. Now the number is 19 000, and yet it seems that hardly anyone knows a sole custodian father. Who are we?

This book is dedicated to you, my dearest daughter. I made this book about that key fob for you.
