About the artist
Hanna Koikkalainen (b. 1980, Imatra) graduated with a Master of Arts degree in 2010 from Aalto University, School of Arts, Design and Architecture. She has also studied cultural history and documentary filmmaking. Koikkalainen investigates contemporary phenomena, oral history, cultural history, archives, national memory, and human-nature relationships through photography, video, text, and object-based art. She has published two photobooks and held numerous exhibitions, including at the Lahti Historical Museum in 2024–2025.
