Hertta Kiiski: Otherworld

The Otherworld exists within a framework of youth and love, with aspects of the magical, the mythical and the esoteric. Like youth itself, Hertta Kiiski’s photographs inhabit a precarious state between daydream and unrest. The book interweaves the imaginary with the mundane through a selection of photographs ranging from analogue snapshots to staged and digitally altered portraits, created over a seven-year period. The illustrations are by Jaakko Pallasvuo and the book includes poems by Jenna Sutela, Sini Silveri and Ilari Laamanen. Graphic design by Samuli Saarinen.
