Jenni Toivonen: Are We There

Are We There investigates migration, memory and the connection between human and nature. In 1929, her great-grandparents joined the Finnish utopian community of Penedo in Brazil, surrounded by the Atlantic Forest, seeking a life in harmony with nature. Through her grandaunt’s writings, photographs, and music, Toivonen sets out to explore their world, a shimmer of utopia, and the deep connection with the forest.
