Jouni Kaipia: Kandal, Kambodža – sarjasta Ovista ja ikkunoista

The photographer creates exhibition series from their photographs, exploring archetypal phenomena of architecture. The accompanying work was included in the exhibition Ovesta ja ikkunoista (Of Doors and Windows) in 2018.

About the artist
Jouni Kaipia is a Helsinki-based architect and photographic artist. He has run his own architectural practice since 1987, but in recent years has increasingly focused on photographic art. To date, he has held eight solo exhibitions of his photographs, with another currently in preparation. His work has also been included in several curated group exhibitions and online galleries. The artist has not entirely shed the habits of an architect in his work as a photographic artist — his images examine phenomena within the built environment, “spaces and situations.” He travels the world and reflects on how one should live on this planet.
