Syömaan! (Time to Eat!) The works examine the repetitive everyday life of family: the dining table, kitchen details, and small outbursts of emotion. In the images, the intimate domestic space is revealed as both ordinary and meaningful. The works are full of symbolism and gentle humour, inviting viewers to look more closely at the everyday: to see dining not merely as nourishment, but as the essence of being a family. The works align with the tradition of still-life painting, drawing inspiration from Renaissance food paintings and early 20th-century herring compositions.
