The sun breaks through heavy clouds, as if searching for space to breathe. The work examines the tension between light and darkness—a moment where hope and uncertainty meet. The contrast between the bright point and the dark mass invites the viewer to reflect on power, vulnerability, and the unpredictability of nature.

About the artist
Photography is Sakari Röyskö's way of observing the world quietly yet attentively. He is interested in everyday phenomena, people, and spaces. In his images, he aims to capture situations where meanings are not immediately obvious, but are constructed through the viewer’s interpretation. His approach is documentary, but not explanatory. He often employs a deadpan aesthetic, allowing space for silence and pause. He is fascinated by how photography can be both truthful and open to interpretation – like a playground where the camera serves as a tool for curiosity and play.
