Toivo Heinimäki: Quiet Cacophony I

Small collection of photographs by Toivo Heinimäki, made between 2022 and 2024 in Grassina, Italy, Sillamäe, Estonia, and Riga, Latvia.

The photographs were taken in an attempt to find something homely and warm within unfamiliar surroundings. The sparse landscapes, the built environment, and the still-life details captured on b&w film shape a sense of place and time that exist both physically and only in Heinimäki’s head.
